Finish selection
Class I anodizing is an integral oxide layer rather than a coating, so it cannot chip or peel and is the more durable option in direct salt exposure. Architectural powder coat gives a wider colour range including matte black and custom RAL, and holds gloss and colour well behind the first dune line.
Hardware and fasteners
Rollers, hinges and multi-point lock components are stainless steel. Mixed metals in a marine environment set up galvanic corrosion, which is why the fastener schedule is part of the system approval and not a site decision.
Drainage
Every operable Fortwell system is a drained and weeped assembly: water that gets past the outer seal is collected in the sill and returned to the exterior rather than sitting against the frame. Keeping the weeps clear is the one piece of owner maintenance that actually matters.
