Project-Out

The sash projects outward on friction hinges, holding wherever it is set, with a narrow throw from the wall.

Best for: Tall and exposed elevations — high-rise and commercial openings where a wide swing is not acceptable.

Overview

The 150 Series is the structural end of the collection, and the project-out window carries its highest design pressure among the operable types. The sash projects out on friction hinges for controlled ventilation with a narrow throw, which suits high-rise and commercial elevations where a wide swing is not acceptable.

Is this the right system?

Choose it when

  • The elevation carries high wind exposure
  • A wide-swinging sash would be a hazard
  • The vent sits inside a larger glazed field

Consider instead

  • Casement — if it is a residential opening at low level.

Configurations

  • Single projected

One projected sash in a stand-alone frame.

  • Projected with fixed

Operable sash combined with fixed lites in one frame.

  • Curtain-wall infill

Vent unit set within a larger glazed field.

Glazing

  • Impact Laminated (standard)

Heat-strengthened lites with a structural interlayer. Large and Small Missile Impact, HVHZ approved.

  • Low-E Insulated

Insulating unit with a solar-control coating to reduce heat gain without dimming the view.

  • Acoustic Laminated

Thicker interlayer tuned for airport, highway and dense urban sites.

  • Tinted & Reflective

Grey, bronze and blue-green body tints, or a reflective coating for west-facing elevations.

Finishes

  • Class I Anodized

Clear, champagne, medium bronze and black — a hard, integral finish for coastal exposure.

  • Architectural Powder Coat

AAMA 2604 polyester finish in the standard Fortwell range, including matte black and warm grey.

  • Custom RAL

Any RAL or custom-matched colour to project specification, minimum quantities apply.
