FORTWELL
Manufacturing

We build what we sell.

Fortwell is a manufacturer, not a rebrander. Profiles, finish, glass and glazing are controlled by the same team that holds the test reports — which is why a Fortwell quote can answer an engineering question without leaving the building.

Process

From billet to crated elevation.

  • (01)

    Extrusion & thermal break

Architectural aluminum profiles are drawn to Fortwell dies, then mechanically crimped with polyamide struts to separate the interior and exterior faces of every frame and vent.

  • (02)

    Finishing

Class I anodizing and AAMA 2604 powder coat, including custom RAL matching. Finish is applied to the profile before fabrication so cut ends and joints are detailed, not touched up.

  • (03)

    Glass lamination & insulating units

Laminated impact make-ups and sealed insulating units are built to the tested glass schedule in each Notice of Acceptance — the same make-up that was tested is the make-up that ships.

  • (04)

    Fabrication & glazing

Frames are cut, machined, assembled and glazed to the opening schedule. Units are built to size rather than cut down from stock, which is what keeps sightlines consistent across an elevation.

  • (05)

    Testing & quality assurance

Product lines are certified through large- and small-missile impact, cyclic pressure, air and water testing. Production is inspected against the approved drawings before crating.

  • (06)

    Crating & delivery

Orders are crated by elevation and floor so the installing contractor unloads in the sequence the building goes up, not in the sequence the factory built.

Factory level

What changes when you buy from the manufacturer.

  • (01)

    No distribution layer

You buy the units from the people who build them. Pricing reflects the factory, not a chain of resale margins.

  • (02)

    Engineering at source

Sizing questions, anchorage details and approval packages are answered by the team holding the test reports, not relayed through a rep.

  • (03)

    Non-standard is normal

Sizes are made to the opening schedule. A one-off mullion condition or a run of unusual proportions is a production instruction, not a special order.

  • (04)

    One point of accountability

Approvals, manufacture, delivery sequence and warranty administration all sit with Fortwell.
